For those of you who haven’t read the story of how we started this project, you can read it here. It’s only a couple of paragraphs so just click it real quick. I’ll wait. Got it? Good.
So the first step when we decided we wanted to make our story into a graphic novel/webcomic was to find an artist. Nick, being a master of the internets and computery things, set up a Deviant Art account and posted a contest for artists. Lots of people responded, so we had to narrow down to the best ones and start paying them real monies to draw up some concept art for us.
Today I’m going to show you all the work we received from the artists we ended up not choosing. Tomorrow I’ll show you the work from Seba and Matias and explain how and why we picked them.
All of these artists did a great job (and we paid them for their work), but they ended up not being what we were looking for. Whether it was a language barrier, a inability to grasp our vision or simply that we couldn’t afford them, none of them worked out. Come back tomorrow to see Seba and Matias’ initial sketches that caught our attention.
