Today we want to show you how Matias and Seba caught our attention and hearts with their artistic skills. The gallery below shows the initial sketches they sent us along with all the other artists from yesterday’s post.
From the first, we really like Matias’ edgy sort of style; his harsh lines and angular designs for the suits. We really felt that it captured the vision of the technology in the world we had created. He responded well to feedback, improving his designs just the way we asked, and really making an effort. That third piece, with the high detail color closeup of Tenzin in his armor was simply awesome.
What first impressed us with Seba was the amount of thought he put into his work. They weren’t just sketches, they were designs and blueprints. He was simply trying to make a good drawing, he was actually trying to design functional futuristic armor. And he responded to our critiques almost instantly, getting us a new sketch sometimes the same day we commented on his previous one.
Seba and Matias really stood out above the rest, so we lined them up with a second test: a full page scene from the end of Chapter 1. Check back tomorrow to see what they produced.
