Hmmm… “This isn’t a fight we *could* win.” So he’s saying that under different circumstances they could win? I wonder if SOPKA will confiscate weapons. (since the deathbots can now handle security, why let the town have weapons that could threaten SOPKA mechanical minions?)

And will SOPKA completely humiliate Kostya by having the deathbot tussle his hair with one of those metal hands? :)

Next up, we see Smrtbot walking around with a new hat.
Kostya, looking sullen, sits placed upon Smrtbot’s head as a hat and contemplating his lot in life.
*Mental image, he has his legs crossed, his elbow on one knee, and chin resting in his hand -dejected. Smrtbot is pleased.*

They provide an extra layer of security from outside actors.

I agree that another layer of defense makes things more secure. But does SOPKA feel that its purpose is safer with the town armed or disarmed? And if it decides to leave them armed, what measures will it take to detect when resentment is boiling over into insurrection? (it may choose to take none, thinking that it doesn’t need to head off such a minor event as an insurrection because it’s confident that it could handle it if it happened)

We fleshbags have our uses and add capability. until said capability costs more to maintain than to replicate…

Doubting that, certain he still remembers a armored suit that defeated several human armys,, including tanks unharmed, barely surviving destruction to destroy only two of those deathbots. Yea,, a couple guys with AK’s would only become gory chunks for someone else mop up.

I look at Vitaly’s face and think “Oh yeah, he’s definitely Russian. No soft Westerner or Turkic person could ever grow such a mighty mustache.” :)
