  • Matt [in Middletown]

    Stompy stompy.
“These boots are made for walking”

    • And that’s just what they’ll do.

      • Matt [in Middletown]

        *Midwest rancher voice*
And here we see what happens when a herd of Tenzin stampede.
        Horrible sight to see.

        • DeNitro

I can just hear it,, that sound every foley artist chooses to use when a Mech or Oversize Ape walks,, But here Tenzin moved so fast she hasn’t even moved her rifle.. Would sound and feel like the Southern Cal had it’s Big One!

          • Matt [in Middletown]

I was envisioning the rumble of the mile long freight that went through Bradner Ohio, but moving much much faster.
Wish I could do animation, I’d illustrate a Tenzin stampede.

          • DeNitro

Look at that, it’s not as huge as “Capt America & Bucky surviving WW2,” but have to love the Retcon.
Tenzin jumps not runs,, and she had time to move her rifle afterall.. :-) 👍

          • Matt [in Middletown]

Yup, the Tenzin train has been derailed.

        • T.R.

And yes ma’am, we’re raising a herd ‘o Tenzin here. Now I know y’all are a little nervous about that, but let me tell you, there’s nothing safer than a Tenzin – herd or solo – so long as you keep them calm. Don’t let them wander off into a battle, and they’re like little armored pussycats.

      • Matt [in Middletown]

“one day these boots’ll walk all over you.”
Or, in one second at the speed of heat.

        • Matt [in Middletown]

…I figured the super suit and Jane “engine control management software” would mean Tenzin basically made a small but fast jump to land on the guy.

          • Oh he did, but not so fast that Thalia’s reflexes and powered suit didn’t let her slightly lower her gun at least ;)

          • Matt [in Middletown]

And what did I see in my head instead?
The Intro of the original series of Star Trek, only it’s Tenzin running instead of the Enterprise flying by.
And instead of the “whoosh” sound effect it is a rumble.

Wish I could do animation, a running Tenzin running over some dude repeatedly from multiple directions would be hilarious.

  • Chinthor

Why is this page spamming my RSS reader?

    • NO idea. I’ll try to get my web guy to look at our site, but I didn’t do anything, nor have I been updating the post.

  • Matt [in Middletown]

Panels three and four would go well with a vault tec style training animation.
(Every scene where vaultboy gets mobbed and run over applies.)

  • Matt [in Middletown]

“with slight edits to invalidate one of Matt’s comments! ;P”
But..but.. I honestly LIKED the gun being blasted out of the dudes hand because he boarded the Tenzin Train, passenger count “him” heading to “Pain”.

And we do need a Tenzin stampede image.
Some dude getting repeatedly run over by nothing but Tenzins.

  • T.R.

I’m not sure if I’m reading that right, but I hear Tenzin in panel 4 (“It is.”) in such a calm meditative voice – which contrasts to what’s happening to that guy under his boots. I would have expected Jane to use the shoulder-mounted launcher or Tenzin to use his rifle to neutralize the threat before seeing Tenzin run over and stomp the poor sod. (especially since Tenzin seems to have calmed down out of his berserker status)

Is he now willing/able to commit such brutal violence while in a calm state? If so, that’s not good at all…

    • yup, things are not ok. also, Tenzin was pretty brutal even before Arkjut

      • T.R.

He’s a soldier, so brutality in the heat of battle is unsurprising. It’s the cold-blooded brutality we’re seeing that seems to be the manifestation of a big problem between his ears. I suspect Indira would not be pleased by that behavior.

And Jane’s cheerleading of it earlier doesn’t give me a warm fuzzy feeling. Maybe some kind of feedback from Tenzin’s psyche?

I wonder if he rampaged like this when he battled the 5 armies (chap 9), and we didn’t notice because it was a hard fight for him. (Chap 9, Page 8. Jane says “Tenzin! Enough berserker mode.” Though the tank shell would have helped catch his attention…) Here, Tenzin’s just too much for the compound’s detachment to handle, so the brutality is much starker.

        • I’ll let Dan write one of his ambiguous answer here.

        • *hijacks this comment to remind you that you never filled out your Kickstarter rewards survey*

          • T.R.

Done. Going to have to find a place for the book that my 8 y.o. won’t find. He love graphic novels, but it’s a bit heavy on the violence/gore for his age. (So if you think I ask a lot of questions…)
