Posted by / in Comic / 28 comments

EDIT3: Whoops, did we forget to add the blood? XD Seba’s catching up, and I’m catching colds and trying to get ready to defend my Thesis. New page on Monday.

EDIT2: Should have some colors later tonight, until then, new fan art and a short sci-fi comic (not set in TDA) I wrote :)

Oh hey, it’s still Monday :D

I’ve been keeping Seba busy prepping files for printing, and myself busy with working on my Thesis XD

*stress levels…rising….*

So, enjoy the sketch and the text, for now. I’ll update with inks and colors as we finish them.

EDIT: Following a week off from a death in Seba’s family, here are the inks, colors soon.

  • Matt [in Middletown]

And at that moment, Jane flooded his head with visual popup advertising for “male enhancement” and “get ripped fast”.

    • DeNitro

Just imagined the exploitable connections that remain open because of that forced detachment,,

“Jane,, I can’t see the target,, Visual Cortex is flooded with holiday special offers…”

      • Matt [in Middletown]

Just then, the Star Wars Holiday Special popped across his vision.
His horrified screams demoralized the enemy so thoroughly that they surrendered on the spot.

        • DeNitro

One with Yoda and Jar Jar singing with Micky Mouse and Goofy..
That would evoke the self gouging of eyes and ears to make it stop,,,

          • Matt [in Middletown]

            Tenzin unlocked: Noise Marine!
            “This quiet offends Slaanesh!”

          • DeNitro

Ooooh,, Noise Marines,, Imagines sonic weapons with power of a dozen “LRAD’s”. Pulverized skull bones and expoding brains to tune of Motley Crue. Would look like a Mars Attacks counter strike!

          • Chris

Much to learn from 40k technology. The power of 10,000 suns packed into a fanny pack, and that just powers the toaster.

If the Emperor had a Text to Speech series presents…

  • T.R.

And it looks like Tenzin is still not over Jane getting all in his business.

    • Ah, there’s also been a bit off offscreen development on their neural link since the last time we talked about it, that’ll get discussed more later this chapter.

      • T.R.

Hmmmm – more than what was in place in chaps 4-6 that allowed Jane to walk in on his catatonic state? I suspect Tenzin is conveniently forgetting that he would have consented to any modifications for further integration with Jane.

Is this development the “surgery” they were talking about in chap 9? ( https://demonarchives.com/chapter-9-page-1-breathe-in/ )

(And Disqus doesn’t let you auto-approve links to your own domain?)

        • I get emailed to approve them normally at least XD

And more that since Chapter 6 she’d been unplugged. Their battles after were her more predicting his movements and compensating (thus their big trip up, if you recall).

And that surgery… interesting find and memory ;)

          • T.R.

Hmmm, I don’t recall her getting unplugged/reduced access after Chap 6. Maybe that was part of the “I’ll try to stay out of your business” they went through after he woke up.
I thought those control issues in Chap 9/10 were based how they had always interacted, and just highlighted the tougher job on her having to coordinate the control of his right arm/left leg with him doing the rest. (i.e. in Chap 3, he’d do the main control and she’d just fine-tune the suit)

And I spend far too much time turning over rocks looking for easter eggs that you and Seva leave around. It was the tattoo on the arm of Morty/G in chap 9 that drew me out of lurking. (doesn’t seem like such a smart move now, does it? :) ) You seem to have planted a few in those lead-in pages of Chap 9. (that battle leading to charges against Tenzin *and* “the surgery”)

          • Well, she got forcibly unplugged, and hadn’t yet plugged back in. ;)

In chapter 3, he would exert pressure/movement which she would use to control the artificial muscles and etc.

In chapter 9/10, there’s no arm/leg there doing the movement, so she’s predicting more and doing all the movement herself, causing some coordination issues.

          • Honza Prchal

That post surgery link interests you because it too references breathing? Has T.R. stumbled across a clue?

      • Matt [in Middletown]

I still like the idea of a fragment of Jane running on Tenzins meatware since his hasty unplugging when she woke him up.
Not likely, but a Cave Jane joking “You Tenzin, Me Jane” upon recontact..

        • Honza Prchal

Like Harry Dresden’s “Lash”, only non-demonic.

          • Matt [in Middletown]

            Mischievous, but not demonic.
            That would fit, yes.

  • Matt [in Middletown]

Anyone else notice how Jane is suddenly wearing Tenzin’s hair when she says his anger infected her?

      • Matt [in Middletown]

Some of the shading and color on this page looks like it was maddening to do. (Jane “infected” color scheme panel 4! Yikes!)
        Looks good!
        Compliments to the artist.

        • DeNitro

I feel it says something of both SebasP and Daniel Sharp,, I am always amused on reviewing previous chapters and pages, to find other perspectives and items I don’t recall from first view. Top notch artisty and storytelling gentlemen!

        • Thanks man!

          • Matt [in Middletown]

            Very welcome.
And I didn’t notice the lack of spattered goo.

          • DeNitro

Now with added splattered goo for that special effect..
And excuse too play a soundtrack,, https://bit.ly/2IwoWdd

          • Just for you guys ;)

          • Matt [in Middletown]

            But wait, there’s more!
Not only do you get extra blood, we’ll throw in this pummeled lackey, free!
*Lackey complains, gets booted by Tenzin*
