I can imagine Tenzin grumbling all the way over to this guy, grabbing him, poking him hard in the gut with one finger to knock the fight out of him, and then Jane says the text instead because Tenzin would come out all “Errrgurggle Grump Grawr! Groaggle!”

  • Amberlight

I must admit, Jane’s joke went over my head.
Tenzin is cute when he tries to be courteous with the gifts though. He has to, else it’ll soon be the oher way around with him and Jane – AI getting all the attention and him being simply a chassi.

    • Hmm, I think I need to review what I wrote, because I was trying indicate that Jane was being sarcastic and grumpy at Thalia, not that Thalia was doing a good job recognizing her like your earlier comment draft indicated.

Also, Tenzin was being grumpily sarcastic too. Snark for everyone! ;P

      • T.R.

It’s April, isn’t that when the snarks migrate back from their winter breeding grounds? (not that recent weather’s been much of a spring treat…)

“I’ll be happy to touch this computer that likely has electronic herpes for you, thrills!” -Jane

Snarky AI sidekick: ($500,000,000 (after loading in lab overhead))
Look on guy’s face in panel 4 when the door gets ripped off and he’s grabbed by the shirt: priceless

Just like Cpt. Hiller and David, they need to “work on their communication”… otherwise, things are going to go south in a hurry for this little band of theirs.

    • Delta-v

      Aren’t they…..almost there already? O.o

      • Even SOUTHER.

        • Eonknight

          What he said… :-P

          • Delta-v

So they’re heading for the really deep……
            south.

Just for comic reference, Alabama is the Heart of Dixie. Pun away, and we’ll get our inevitably brutal revenge on the gridiron if your boys are good enough to even get a change to compete.

          • Delta-v

It wasn’t supposed to be a pun, it was supposed to be an unexpected twist on an expected ending. :)

          • Honza Prchal

Sorry. Word-play, then. I was inviting you to pun based on that and the Heart of Dixie. No offense meant, oh honourable commenter from a higher income, lower Defensive scoring state.

          • Delta-v

Heh, it has taken me over 65 years to learn to control my punny impulses when it comes to people’s religion, and in Alabama, football definitely qualifies as such. ^^

Higher income state? Couldn’t prove it by me. The defensive scoring thing is accurate, however. :)

“Later. It’s always ‘later’ with you.” reminds me that Jane is now feeling what Smrtbot felt when the Interwebs went down thanks to Nuclear Holocaust!!” She’s a better “person”, clearly.

I love the juxtaposition of colors in this chapter so far: Thalia’s cool green, Tenzin’s burning red, and Jane’s green-turning orange (thanks to her closeness to Tenzin…), and everyone else’s lack of color.

Smrtbot made manifest – https://www.wsj.com/articles/meet-the-new-robot-army-1523455200?mod=trending_now_4 – or at least work on a fully automated T-14 Armata is made manifest.
