Hello readers!
Intermission week has been going pretty well. A big shout out to our friends at Webcomic Creators and Webcomic Underdogs who have taken an interest in our comic and given us some great feedback. We really appreciate it, and will keep trying to improve both our website and our content in order to provide the best experience possible for everyone.
I thought I’d share some of the work that went into designing the characters of the Demon Archives. Today we’ll start with Tenzin.
Here’s what I gave the artists to work with when we asked them to start doing concept sketches of Tenzin:
Tenzin – Raised in a hidden Tibetan monastery in the Tien Shan mountains, Tenzin saw everyone he knew get slaughtered by raiders. He dedicated his life to seeking out and destroying marauding groups. Several years later he joined Minerva in order to improve his odds. Now he commands one of Minerva’s top squads, the Keleres.
Age: 32 years
Height: 1.75 meters
Weight: 91 kg

Skin color: Brown
Hair color: Brown
Eye color: Dark Brown
From that, here’s what Matias and Seba came up with:
As you can see, both Matias and Seba put a lot of work and thought into these. I immediately connected with the character Seba drew. He just felt like Tenzin to me. I liked him so much that in my mind that’s what Tenzin looked like, prompting me to re-write his backstory a bit to make his ancestry match his appearance 
You might notice that there are Tenzin’s of various ages here. I don’t feel like it is too big a reveal to say that yes, we will have some backstories, come Chapters 3 and 4.
