Tenzin Dorje - Captain of the Keleres.
Arguably the finest soldier in Minerva, Tenzin was raised in a hidden Tibetan monastery in the Tien Shan mountains. As a child, Tenzin saw everyone he knew get slaughtered by raiders. He dedicated his life to revenge, seeking out and destroying marauding groups. Several years later he joined Minerva, where he now leads one of their top squads, the Keleres.
Jane - Prototype military grade Artificial Intelligence (AI)
Jane was created 3 years ago by one of Minerva’s top scientists, Angeline Bellamí. She has a physical, organic computing matrix, but by connecting with the base’s sensors she can project her consciousness and visual avatar wherever wires will take her. Jane is Tenzin’s personal AI, and is responsible for his functioning as the elite military force he represents.
Angeline Bellamí - Chair of Glaucus’ Robotics and Organic Computing department
Coming from a long lineage of Minervan scientists, Angeline has always been a prodigy. She has designed several AIs and is behind the recent advances in bio-engineered artificial muscles, as well as AI controlled genetic engineering. She is a scientist, daughter of scientists, and sees the AIs as children of sorts. Great with machines, Angeline struggles to connect with normal people.
Viktor Golovanov - 1st Lieutenant of the Keleres
Viktor met Tenzin in a bar outside of old Volgograd during a brawl. Brought together by necessity, they soon became close friends. Viktor joined Tenzin in his vigilante journey across the continent, eventually joining Minerva with him. As fierce a warrior as he is, Viktor is often found at the children’s Creche, giving horsey rides and reading stories to a group of toddlers.
Lily is a refuge from a Minerva protected town that was massacred. Rescued by Tenzin, she became very attached to him, almost viewing him as a father figure, no matter what he does to dissuade her. Her injuries and trauma have left her mute, but Lily normally manages to communicate herself quite well regardless. Due to her inability to speak her full name is unknown, as is most of her personal information.
Richard Watson - Aegis Mechanic
Rick grew up in a clan of Drifters, constantly on the move to avoid entrenched raider groups and to discover new scavenging sites. From a young age Rick showed a proclivity to tinker, often repairing the old machinery and technology his family uncovered as they scavenged. Rick’s clan eventually made their way through Minerva controlled territory, where Rick, fascinated by all the wonderful technology Minerva possessed, decided to leave the clan, getting a job as a mechanic for the Aegis field team the Keleres.
The Keleres – Aegis’ top field team.
The Keleres, named after an ancient Roman band of warriors, is a 20-man squad of soldiers led by Captain Tenzin Dorje. Captain Dorje divided his squad into 4 pentads, each led by a lieutenant. Due to excellent training and leadership the Keleres have a very high successful mission rate, with unprecedented low casualties.
Minerva.
In the fall 1972, near the end of the Vietnam War, an international group of scientists met in secret to voice their complaints. Dissatisfied with how their respective governments used and abused their discoveries for political and military gains, these scientists renounced their loyalties to their individual nations and pledged themselves to the betterment of Earth. They named their covert organization Minerva, after the ancient Roman goddess of wisdom.
Set in 22nd century Earth, over 100 years after the 3rd World War, the Demon Archives tells the survivors' stories as they struggle to rebuild civilization. In Book One, we'll meet the members of Minerva, one of the few high tech organizations that survived the War, and learn how they established a beacon of hope in the dreary wasteland of central Asia.
Minerva: Book One of the Demon Archives follows the story of Tenzin, a Minervan soldier, and his Oracle AI, Jane, as they fight to protect the ideals Minerva stands for in an increasingly chaotic world.
With a heavy basis in real science and technology with a healthy dallop of imagination, The Demon Archives will show you how life could be in a post-apocalyptic Earth.
