Hello readers!
I wanted to make a post and explain what has been going on over at the Demon Archives. A lot of you have probably heard how Nick has been working on the new version of the website. He’s been working on it for a while, but we are happy to announce that the new version of the webpage will launch on Monday, August 15th. I know that is almost a month away, but there is nothing like a nice, firm deadline to get Nick in gear.
As part of this new version of the site, we are preparing for a re-launch of the comic as well. No, we aren’t going to re-draw the pages or change the story or anything. Seba did such high quality to begin with that there is no need for that. But starting on the 15th of August we are going to release the Prologue, 1 page every day, and continue through Chapters 1 and 2, still a page every day, until we get back to the beginning of Chapter 3, at which point in time we will resume our normal twice a week publishing schedule.
Our reason for doing this is three-fold. 1) We want to give Seba time to build up a buffer, so that we can keep to a Monday-Thursday release schedule without stressing him out the night before. 2) With the launching of the new site we are also going to simultaneously step up our marketing and web-presence efforts. Nick also tells me that in the transfer to the new site we will lose all our good SEO internet magic points, so reloading one page at a time every day instead of all the pages at once is a good way to help fix that. 3) We want to use this time to polish up everything on the site and in the story to make it a much better package for all you marvelous readers out there.
So what does this mean? There probably won’t be any new comic pages added until the launch date. The story is at a pretty good pause point right now, so we don’t want to add anything to it until we are ready to go all the way through this next big sequence. We will still be working on posting content, and even art, especially in the Lore and Science aspects of the Archives, so keep an eye out for new articles there shredding more light on the background and world of The Demon Archives. We’d also love any guest submissions, whether it be art or short fiction in the Demon Archives universe. Just email any submissions, questions or ideas to “webmaster (at) demonarchives (dot) com” without the spaces. (weird format to weed out spam bots).
Starting August 15th, we will be uploading at least 1 (if not more) pages per day of both old and new content, with maybe a few edits here and there, until we get back to the point where we left off. So please bookmark us, keep checking back for various bits of new content, and let us know your thoughts on how improvements you’d like to see on the website.
