Hello again readers!
So I talked to Nick yesterday, and even though he’s been having some severe neck pain this whole last week he is still on track for the website re-launch on the 12th of August. I’m pretty excited.
In the past couple of days I’ve been working more on developing some collaborative efforts for The Demon Archives. A couple more people are working on writing some short stories set in various times in the alternate history of our world, mostly at the beginnings of WW3. One friend is writing about how Saddam actually having WMDs set the political stage for global crisis, while another is writing about a German youth suffering the effects of said crisis, and yet another about the circumstances leading to the bombing of Washington DC. It’s a lot of fun to work together. I really want this collaboration to be part of who we are as The Demon Archives.
So if any reader is interested in working with us, writing up a short story or Lore article about some event in our story’s universe let me know. I’d love to work with you.
Also, yesterday I got two unexpected bits of fan art from some fellow Underdogs.
Ethan Kocak, artist and writer for The Black Mudpuppy. Here’s the description from his website:
The comic tells the story of a would be Aztec god, known as Xolotl. Xolotl is the God of Fire and the Underworld in Aztec mythology. He’s kind of a jerk in this story though, so he’s banished into the body of an axolotl for 491 years, at which point he is semi-freed under the condition that he has to do good deeds for mortals in order to earn back his full powers.
It’s quirky, odd, random, violent, and very entertaining. My favorite character is definitely the Hitlersaurus. Ethan is telling a great, fun story with interesting characters and art, so I’d recommend you check it out.
This bright, happy and funny little piece showed up in my inbox yesterday from Marius Hjelseth, artist and writer for the webcomic October 20th. He’s also the guy working on a short piece about the Norwegian Royal Guard I mentioned in my previous post. Obviously quite a talented guy. I haven’t actually starting reading Marius’ comic yet, something I mean to rectify post haste, because it sounds very intriguing. It’s a horror/mystery/thriller about a couple of people who each killed someone on October 2oth 10 years ago, and since then have been hunted and killed by a mysterious creature. Sounds kind of creepy, and awesome, and I have it from multiple good sources that it is quite good.
Anyways, I’m really grateful to both of them, and these will also get prime position on our Fan Art section on the new version of the site.
