Back in November, we funded and promoted a sweet project that a friend of mine was running to teach families in Capo Verde, Africa how to run a small garden to supplement their diets. Due in part to our (small) contributions, he and his group were able to teach 15 families how to do so. Way to go, John!

African farming

My good friend John Campbell founded Help Cape Verde Africa a couple of years ago, and has been trying to raise awareness and funds to help improve the quality of life there. As part of this, he’s started an Indiegogo project to try to raise funds to teach families how to make and use smallish container gardens to supplement their nutrition. If any of you are of a philanthropic nature or just want to do something to help out Cape Verde, Africa, take a gander at his page and talk him up.

It looks a pretty sweet project too, that I might steal for my story (mwahaha!). By steal, I mean think about gardening in a place (like Africa) that isn’t normally hospitable. Could be useful in a nuclear winter.
