Hey all! Dan here.
I thought you all might like an update on the page and such. Seba is working on and awesome prologue to better introduce the comic. It’s gonna be epic, and really set the stage as far as time, place, and feel go. Nick is also working hard on updating/coding our new version of the website.
While they have been doing that, I have been doing my part to try and promote The Demon Archives. Part of that has been through participation in a variety of subreddits, facebook groups and whatnot. Recently, I’ve been spending a lot of time on the Webcomic Underdogs website and forum. I joined the Underdogs facebook group several months ago, and really enjoyed the great feeling of being part of a community of comic creators. That feeling has only gotten better now that they’ve started their own webpage. They host comic spotlights, do interviews with creators, blog about webcomicking, and have a great forum. It’s been fun to build friendships with some other comic creators.
On the forums there (you can find me as @DaemonDan there) I’ve been able to share some of the goals of our project, especially the idea of collaboration. We really want to create a diverse and rich world to set the story of Minerva in, and recognize that while we maybe could do it ourselves, we can do it a lot better with the help of other authors. So I made a post asking if anyone wanted to help me write short stories expanding the history and fullness of our story’s universe. A couple of people have responded and are working on some great ideas. I know I never would have written about the Norwegian Royal Guard trying to help the Royal Family escape the capital
I also made a request for fan/guest art, especially during our hiatus. I am extremely happy to be able to post our first bit of fan art!
This little beauty is a sketch of Tenzin by Neil Kapit, author of the webcomic Ruby Nation. It’s a story ofRuby, an American teenager turned into a nine-foot-tall person of mass destruction by unethical experiments on humans. Dragged into this conspiracy, she tries to create a haven for her and other superpowered people like her.
Thanks, Neil, for making this for us, we really appreciate it. Once Nick makes a Fan/Guest Art page we’ll make sure yours gets up there
Anyways, look forward to hopefully more fan art and short stories from guest authors. If anyone wants to send us some fan art, no matter the quality, feel free to email it to me at dan**at**demonarchives**dot**com. If you can’t interpret than to be my real email, you’re probably a spambot and I don’t want to get email from you anyways ;P
