Tenzin, by Woodrow Eliot

Hey all! I’m still alive. Started my Psychiatry clerkship rotation, which has been interesting. Probably not my area of interest, ultimately, but still good.

Seba’s been busy (you should check out the great stuff he’s making on his twitter!), but we’re still working on the next Chapter :)

Enjoy this guest art of Tenzin from Woodrow Eliot.

“Hey all! I’m still alive. Started my Psychiatry clerkship rotation”
Secondary stated facts don’t support primary stated assertion.
    Are you certain about this?
How do you feel about it?

Are you at least getting something out of it?

    • Psych has been interesting so far! It’s rather fascinating thinking about psychosis, delusions, etc, and how our brains can deceive us about reality. Hoping to incorporate some more of those elements into the comic :D

Heck, being near-sighted with astigmatism is close enough to psychosis for me.
Your eyes insist that you saw “zOMG a SPIDER right THERE!” out of the corner of your eye due to the fact that -surprise- you’re actually pretty much blind and what you see is pretty much reassembled bits and pieces of literal fantasy because human eyesight is actually extremely bad to begin with.

Where is Middleton, anyhow? A subtle play on amygdyla, perhaps?

It’s a modest “city” in Orange county ny.
Was once a hub of several railroads, those days are long gone for the place though.

I’d not realized it was a literal handle. I figured it was symbolic, but I actually know Middletown a bit – and that it is not to be confused with Frank Sinatra’s fictional Watertown.

            No worries.
It might have some symbology to it, such things are what you make of them.
I do feel that a name should describe the person or thing it is naming.
Of course, some look into the meaning and symbology of the name.
For example, my actual first name means “from the steep hill” or just “steep hill”.
            Who names their kid that?
            Apparently, my parents.

          • Honza Prchal

Frank – a Germanic word for spear.
Abner – son of Ner (and, oddly to modern ears, named after one of the greatest warriors the world ever knew).
            Peter – rock.
            Dolores – tears.

It is reported there are 21 named Middleton and 19 named Middletown in the United States of America.
