TDA Reviews: Webcast Beacon and Girls Like Comics

Posted by / in Blog / No comments yet

Over the past two weeks we received a couple more reviews of The Demon Archives: one from the Webcast Beacon, and one from Girls Like Comics. Both were fairly positive, although the Webcast Beacon had some good criticisms on the story so far.

I recommend you check them out! Share what you think in the comments on the reviews :) Validate the reviewers for taking the time to talk about The Demon Archives, etc :)

Webcomic Whipcrack: Demon Archives

Posted by / in Blog / 2 comments

We just got an excellent, thorough, and detailed review from friend, fellow comicker and maker of fan art, Vas Littlecrow Wojtanowicz. She doesn’t pull any punches, but tells us what we’re doing good and what we need to work on. I’m glad to say that we were already aware of and working on the majority of the things she pointed out :D

Check it out, and leave your thoughts and give her props for the awesome review both here and on her site directly :D

Critique of The Demon Archives - by School of Psychologics

Posted by / in Blog / 10 comments

Hey, listen! *channeling my inner Navi*

We got another review/critique! It’s from Snark, creator of webcomic Anybody There? and the new webcomic review website School of Psychologics. It’s kind of long, but goes pretty detailed into what the author thinks are some strengths and weaknesses of our comic and site.

I’d like to bring a couple up and get your thoughts on it:

  1. Home page vs latest page: Do you guys like the way the home page looks or would you rather have the latest page on it front and center?
  2. The Prologue: Too annoying tell-y, or helpful in setting the scene/overcoming the too wordy first couple of pages of Chapter 1?
  3. Wordiness and Show vs Tell: I know I was pretty bad at this in early Chapter 1. Does it get better? How are Chapters 2 and 3 feeling?
  4. Tenzin’s actions: Do they seem unbelievably irrational/dumb?
  5. Anything else that stuck out to you in the critique or in thinking back about the comic?

Thanks a bunch guys, you rock. And thanks again Snark for the feedback and spotlight :D

Comic Spectrum Review and Princess Chroma Cameo

Posted by / in Blog / 1 comment

Happy news! This week we got both a review and a cameo!

The review came from Stephen Bretall of Comic Spectrum. He gave us a 5/5 and said some really nice things. You should go check it out, comment, and otherwise give Stephen and Comic Spectrum in its entirety some love.

The cameo we got is from the webcomic Princess Chroma, created by Sarah Driffill, who wrote The Birkenhain Journal with/for us previously. Can you see who got cameo-ed? It’s Jane! She’s the angel guard in the top panel with blue wings and a sweet halberd. I’d say that fits her quite well.

Thanks again to both of you awesome people.
