Well, one advantage to not having that arm.

    • Delta-v

Now let’s see how the blade handles lateral stress. :)

      • Adriano

Now let’s see how the Deathbot handles punch in the face :)

  • Sorry about the laptop, Dan. Murphy never rests. >.<

  • T.R.

Is his hand supposed to be in front of his face? (i.e. stopping the blade at just outside of shaving distance) I see the hand as closer to the front of the panel than his head. (Not sure why I seem so see these differently than most/as probably intended)

At least I can tell that he dropped his rifle, so he’ll need to think quick to try to smack the speed-bot before it backs off.

I wonder how badly damaged his arm is. Probably lost most hand control, though it may still be able to stabilize the rifle (but with loss of precision…)

    • DeNitro

There hasn’t been a human hand there since the last terrible visit to this village,, that’s the mechanical hand Jane controls blocking a killing blow to his head.. My hope is the mechanical hand and arm retains enough strength to quickly turn that blade, and make at liest one Deathbot regret that tactic.

  • Ian Brown

he’s probably glad that arms is mechanical, and not from fma, otherwise those nerves would be screaming!

    • Adriano

      I bet he’s still afraid.
I mean, he’s seeing his arm being pierced.
He must feel something, not plain pain I guess, but still.

      • Ian Brown

yeah he could possibly be feeling a form of ghost limb syndrome sort of pain. psychological horror or that kind of thing.

      • DeNitro

Real facts show adrenaline and training has a narcotic effect on actual wounds suffered by military, police, and others… Main reason the argument that one could simply wound all your enemy’s troops and win the battle so completely fails.

  • On this particular page the text wasn’t final when I drew it, I love how Panel 3 with Jane’s text makes Tenzin’s face looks like like if Jane where mocking him

    • Adriano

      Snarky Jane 4 ever

  • T.R.

I wonder how the PDC modules handled that hard roll. Gonna be tough if Tenzin/Jane aren’t able to easily keep those flechettes at bay.

    • Kaiden

Well, they are built for combat. So… they should be fine? Maybe?

      • Aaron R.

Lets just hope being crushed under several tons of physics-defying power armor doesn’t destroy them.

With that being said, I’m sure they’ll be fine.

  • Kaiden

I’m honestly wondering why you would give a Deathbot a wrist blade. It seems rather… inefficient. Anything likely to be threatened by the blade would be just as easily dismembered by claw.

For more hardened targets, an axe- or halberd-like weapon would be more threatening.

    • Aaron R.

The designer usually gets overridden by the commissioner when it comes to practicality.

Usually why most artisans are freelance.

      • NickDA

SOPKA has evil villain embellishment issues.

    • this deathbot was designed after the first deathbots fought with Tenzin and the other armored captains, the blade can go trough the armor ( the fletches can’t)

  • Chris Kotthoff

    Best team up ever!

  • NickDA

Hey guys… Dan is busy and I’m stuck in meeting hell. I’ll be uploading the next page in a few hours.

  • Dear lord! I come back to catch up on pages I’ve let pile up and this is what I find. Hasn’t he had enough limb trauma?
