It’s so fun working with Seba on these pages, going back and forth on fun little details that just end up seamlessly blending into the background of the page. And then fun to see if/who notices the little elements and develops grand theories about them XD

Did you see the Daemon Fauna series we’ve started with another artist? Basically speculative biology by a Glaucus scientist with a bit too much time on her hands XD Also, on a different science article about Powered Armor, we’ve got a new commissioned featured image.

      “Jane, I’m going for some levity here.” he says, just as a cavity opens in the sand where he punched it.

the damage craters are piercing below the wreckage itself. does oculus have orbital artillery? because if not whatever hit them was going rather fast for the craters to look like they do.

    if i recall (i may be wrong) the deathbots main weapons were blades, shrapnel based weapons and rockets. theres no way with how big that wreckage looks that a rocket would punch through it , and destroy it simultaneously. i’m intrigued, and if i didn’t know any better I’d guess it was some sort of heavy solid mass energy weapon, but energy weapons havnt been shown much ( at all if i recall) so I’m now very interested in this wreckage. and what caused it.

        Never stop thinking of fun theories XD All will be revealed in time, but I really enjoy reading theories, seeing how close/off you are, how you’re interpreting what I’m presenting, etc. And sometimes I steal reader explanations and theories because I like them better XD

        sweet, now we can throw the death bot ai and Jane in a room together and wait to see which kills the other in a staring contest first XD

        Sometimes the influence leads to a negative result. I’m moderately sure that Dan um, modified some plotlines that I was theorizing a little too closely about.
        
        In other words, If you keep loading your Tenzin/Angeline “ship”, it may sink, instead. ;)
        
        And as far as marrying Jane, can you support her in the manner to which she has become accustomed?

        I theorized on just about everything until enough other commenters showed up to help, so I’d be more surprised if you hadn’t. :) I would have no way of knowing whether you made a few tweaks or were going to do it that way all along.
        
        Like I said at the time, since you guys were so careful to make the characters believable in their interactions, anyone familiar with the way people behave should be able to make some good guesses. :)

    Bet the shots only hit any recording package the vehicles had.

  Kinetic weapon doesn’t have to be orbital. It can very well be dropped from a high-altitude plane. Maybe the same one that the deathbot itself was dropped from, albiet on a parachute.
  It can even be not just a rod-bomb but a rocket with solid metal warhead or a mixed ordnance with solid penetrating head followed by an explosive charge. Penetrator gets the charge inside the vehicle and explosion destroys it from the inside.

  The craters aren’t that big or deep, so that could just be a conventional bombing. Or maybe, since those things are incredibly armored, Aegis used something more along the lines of those old “bunker-buster” bombs from World War Two. Less *BOOM*, more piercing power. Kinda like what Deathbot had, come to think of it…

Wait, is that a body of Keleres trooper? Did Aegis not recover their bodies? That’s rather weird. I’d imagine families giving hell to the recovery team.

  Yup indeed. But remember, that was an incredibly hectic day, with multiple Aegis teams getting hit by strange deathbots, and then the invasion started.

Why does Jane have an accent all of a sudden? Her speech bubbles are darker than usual.

  Probably just a overall lighting filter Seba put on and didn’t notice. Now that you’ve pointed it out, he’ll probably send me an edited version XD

  My first thought was zombie. Part of me knows that zombies are highly unlikely. The other part REALLY wants to see Tenzin beating zombies to pieces with a shovel.

        Gotcha. Well, while I have an idea for how someone could do something KIND of similar in our world, it would probably be less “zombie” and more “meat-suit for a killer robot”.
