Chapter 11: Page 18 - Holograms and Robots

Sorry folks, Seba had a family medical emergency, and hasn’t been able to work on the page. So, enjoy this early step in our process: the sketch. From here we finalize the layout plan, as well as the dialogue, before Seba does the inks and then the colors.

For posterity.

Check back tomorrow sometime, I’m sure we’ll have the inks up at least. EDIT: Colors!

In the mean time, week seven of the Spider Forest Comic of the Week. One of them is me (hi new readers!), but the other is a great sci-fi post-apocalyptic comic that you all would probably enjoy!

When Major Sarah Bronniford is captured while on a tense Cold War mission, her comrades send their robotic tank Mike to rescue her. But Mike carries out his mission too well, and accidentally turns a crisis into an all-out atomic war. When a heavily-damaged Mike returns from his mission with Sarah wounded but alive, they both begin to exhibit strange and unpredictable behavior – and some dangerous new opinions about their mission.

Glad to hear that things are going to be okay.
I hope this doesn’t come off the wrong way, but thank you for posting your sketch. Most artists who post their sketches post pencils that looks far better than my inks. It’s encouraging to me, as an artist, that you work from a rough sketch. I know that’s silly, but I’ve spent hours trying to make my sketches look better, to the detriment of my overall artwork, due to people insisting that you can’t have beautiful art without beautiful pencils. Thanks for the unintentional encouragement!

2 minutes isn’t a lot of time to find the witnesses and clean things up. I’m thinking G has a quick but messy exit in mind. Then again, maybe the “security” personnel on the way are part of the conspiracy and will provide cover for the exit. (gotta watch those assumptions!)

Tick tock, Rick. Not much time left either way…

What other tricks do the AI have up their sleeve? Anything? And where’s Jane?

  Anyone else thinking,, If it takes two minutes for the “Barney’s” of this critical labs security detail to sit down the coffee and donuts, pick up a weapon and rush right down the hallway after hearing gunfire,, they’re likely to be no real hindereance to these three goons once they get there?
