I’m assuming that the text is supposed to be partially fuzzy? Or is my computer have problems loading this properly?

    • Yup yup. Trying to show Tenzin vaguely picking up on some real-life conversations.

  • Amberlight

Who is talking to whom? The doctor and Jane or the doctor and the lady that demanded Tenzin to wake up in the first page of the chapter?

    • Jane’s dialogue bubbles are yellow with the square-ish border.

      • Good eye, @sunscales:disqus ;) And @disqus_8XKHAw4roh:disqus, what made you think it was a lady on page 1?

  • Michael

That’s what I call excellent and creative lettering. Well done.

  • jerry mcmasters

What is it with us men and our private stashes of pics that can always be used against us? Sigh. Well done page, I got it that it was Tenzin dimly picking up a mishmash of conversation.

    • Maybe not all men. Just at least this one :)

Actually, way to assume! What if it was some creepy evil lesbian doctor? Ok, I know that isn’t NEARLY as believable, or what I thought when I wrote it, but it still could be! ;)

      • jerry mcmasters

Oh hell yeah! That’s a great idea! Have HER standing there when Tenzin wakes up.

        • Hehe, that would be a funny subversion of the expected. But now I’ve ruined it! ;)

          • jerry mcmasters

            Bah! Nobody reads comments!

          • :'(

  • Marisa Brenizer

Really like the lettering here - very clever.

I like the use of blur… makes me hear the dialog with that phasey underwater in and out audio they use in the movies. I only wish you’d made at least a few of the words incomprehensible.

    • You want more blur? We can give you more blur ;)

@sebastinpriz:disqus, next time give d.Forrest more blur on some of the bubbles. He doesn’t want the hints about what is going on outside of Tenzin’s head ;P

      • Demetri Ermak

And there was I, suggesting use of furniture, and two pages later - here they are, blurred lines.
Am I that predictable? This page was uploaded 3 months ago!

  • I agree, the blur effect is a great way to give the sense of fading in & out.
But… isn’t Jane a disembodied voice? Is she really taking up much room?

    • Not physically, but she still has quite a … presence. And having a loud, angry AI messing with your computer monitors while you’re trying to work might be just a tad annoying ;)

  • nightgaunt

I thought I was going selectively blind there for few seconds. Whew!

    • NickDA

Crap… time to stop binge reading… but must know what happens next…. squints :D

  • Also thought there was something wrong with my sight… or the page hadn’t loaded completely. Haha! I get it now. :)

    “Jane uses Blackmail! It’s Super-Effective!”

  • Adriano

Wait, this doctor is a complete jerk!

  • Henrik Svantesson

Well, that isn’t a bad sign at all in terms of how safe these AIs are, already making superior officers go away using social engineering.

Wonder if the scientists in charge of developing them, always in need of funding in a culture where you get results or you get a new job and hanging on by a thread, are any more resistant to their manipulation?
