Chapter 4: Page 54 - Failure

Posted by / in Comic / 23 comments

It’s a new week, and a new page. I liked the comment that Patron Nathan Arnett made on this page when it posted on Patreon a week ago (hint hint, nudge nudge, click and pledge below):

Tenzin isn’t allowed to win. Ever. Everyone dies.

While I as the author may eventually disagree, the point of today’s page is that Tenzin believes it.

And while I have your attention, I really do want to thank readers like Nathan who support us financially. While Nick is able to save some money from his paychecks to pay Seba and to host the site, it leaves little else for other things like commissions, advertising and bonus fun stuff. I don’t have the technical know how to set up a donation button or a store (but Nick says those ARE coming, eventually), but I did set up a Patreon page, where YOU can donate as little or as much as you want to help us keep making the content you love, AND I give you cool reward perks for doing so.

Just food for thought. :)

At least we know that Jorge didn’t die there. Unless… it’s another Jorge?

    • I could answer, or just make you wait until Thursday to see ;)

      • But you wouldn’t, cause you’re not an inhuman monster who likes playing with his audience, right? :)

        • This Jorge and Viktor are indeed meant to be the same Viktor and Jorge we see in Chapters 1-3. BUT! This is a dream nightmare and not everything you see is necessarily 100% accurate to reality. ;)

How’s that for a nice mix of helpful and inhuman monster? :P

          • Matt [in Middletown]

The brick is the thing that will drive the King mad!
            / end hamlet, nightmare edition

    • Demetri Ermak

I think I addressed that one before :D

  • Oh, BTW, I’m planning a really cool game/adventure for all of you! Basically, Aegis HQ is hosting a Wargame/Tactical Simulation to prepare for the very real possibility of invasion post the events of Chapter 3. You can join up and help plan and run it, as either a member of one of 5 rebel factions, or, if I like you, on the side of Minerva. There will be a more detailed post tomorrow but you don’t all see the blog posts.

It’s going to be run on this forum site that I’m working on improving: http://thedemonarchives.freeforums.net/

So go check out what I have so far, register etc if you’re interested. It should be a lot of fun :D

Seems interesting for a game :)
      I am now registered :)

    • Demetri Ermak

      I’m in.
However, I don’t want to go the easy way.
Last time I played something like that, it was a trading card game’s lore subforum, kind of a “we make history” place.
When I joined, every faction was staffed with 5-15 people, so I joined Orks and worked on them single-handedly for about half a year, before other people started joining because it grew much more interesting to be the part of my vision on the orcs)
So, what I want to do it I’ll take the last faction that’s left, look at the others and create something else, but still fitting the world.

      • Also the possibility of making you a “faction leader”, meaning that you’re be default the voice most in charge of organizing your group, to direct as you want. In that case you can make it how you want to begin with.

I’ll probably have to moderate a bit who goes where at least at first to at least get some people on each faction :)

I look forward to seeing you over in the forum too. winjin, there, right?

        • Demetri Ermak

Already registered, and yeah, that’s me.
I’m totally ok with that. More over, I don’t want to contradict the ideas you already have, so I will be consulting, anyways.

          • Yeah, my plan is to guide discussion and idea generation. I have some of my own ideas, but I want these factions to become YOURS. If you check you’ll see posts on the 5 Factions if you want to start thinking and brainstorming and posting your ideas for them :)

  • Oh Tenzin, haven’t you been paying attention? You already know he’s alive and well, because you get to see him die later.

    • He’s SO forgetful. Good thing he normally has Jane to remind him of things. Not that he listens.

      • Adriano #WR

Hehe, it could be a good idea for a comic strip ;)

  • NickDA

I really like the off panel BOOM in the fourth panel… combined with the lighting its a really cool effect.

    • Adriano #WR

      Indeed ^^

  • Adriano #WR

    I just voted on Patreon…
“Just tell me where to shot” omg xD

  • Neil Kapit

The way we live and die is more important than the simple fact of it. Tenzin’s continued survival is, in that sense, an existentialist triumph.

  • Tantz Aerine

I really like your use of colour in this comic. This just begs to be animated.

  • Citrus Reaper

Where are these raiders getting all of these goddamned tanks?
