Jane is like one of those patients who show up to the doctor’s office after browsing through WebMD for hours. Except she’s probably right ;)

Colors will be replacing these inks later today.

I THINK I’ve figured out why I haven’t been getting notifications on comments. I think it’s because Disqus just decided to do some big account verification sweep, and I only get emails about comments from verified accounts. Maybe. I dunno. Try verifying your account and commenting?

          PCDs is likely to be a rear attack warning or armor countermeasure. Yet IDK if it’s that TV commercial I just saw, or the frequent use of the word “Smells,“ but I can’t stop thinking and laughing,,

      The final melee seemed to give them the most trouble, so point defence sounds about right. Bit overkill for a sword and knife fight, mind…

    Of course you should trust the self-aware computer to know what’s going on with itself! I mean, you can always trust computers and humans to know what’s best for themselves, so combining them means you’ll be twice as safe!!

    Jane… please don’t take away the technician’s job, m’kay? Other than that, I’ve a weird question to the authors and such. If Tenzin learned various memorization techniques and such, like the Method of Loci/Roman Room technique for example, would it be easier for Jane to access memories and such Tenzin stored by way of those techniques if she interfaced with him again? And if that is possible, could she research and develop a compatible file format or whatever so that she could upload book knowledge and such into Tenzin’s mind and he could then access it himself as necessary?

      I think you and I are thinking fairly similarly about the possibilities.

      For example, they have shown that vivid mental picturing of memories lights up about the same areas of the brain as when you are actually seeing it (visual centers). Think also on how when you are trying to remember visual details, people often close their eyes… to minimize distracting signals from hitting the same visual processing parts. So if Jane/Tenzin were able to calibrate, she seeing via a camera, then correlating to what that “looks” like in Tenzin’s brain patterns, you could then imagine that she could make a codec.

      So I don’t know if she would implant “memories” per se, but I bet the effect would be pretty similar: Tenzin “searching” for a memory, she helping to provide similar neural pattern as if it was a real “memory” by stimulating the same centers. It’d prolly feel super weird, like really really strong dejavu or “vision”… but if he knew and participated in the process it probably wouldn’t be disconcerting.

      But, I think you’ll see that Tenzin’s meditation practices were more than just casually mentioned back in the nightmare/recovery sequence :D There is an overtone/undertone to this comic that is all about identity, self, reality, mentality etc.

    Photon duct cooling system, or something is my guess as to pdcs. tenzin was complaining about the suit over heating earlier after all.

  • I feel like I should point out that the S in “PDCS” is actually “PDCs”, indicating plurality. You’ll note Jane refers to the PDCs as “them.” /hint
