Oh, Jane, play nice.

So, a lot of you may not have noticed, because we still have to remake our site to include the banner, but we’re part of the SpiderForest comic collective, which recently did application season and welcomed some new comics. Here are a couple of cool fantasy comics that got in that you might like:

Thanks for the link to SpiderForest, once I’m done with a few re-reads of current webcomics I’ll stop by to see if there are any I’ll read.

    • No problem! A good 60 solid comics on there of diverse genres. I updated the post above to have a link directly to the collective archive, which for simplicity for you I’ll post here too: http://www.spiderforest.com/

To be honest, I might not have the capacity for too many new ones.
Been a while since I culled the Active folder in my RSS reader, but the total (active + dead/finished/hiatus) is in the 250’s.

        • *whistles* And I thought *I* had it bad with my ~75 or so active comics that I read XD

It’s why I won’t take my business to a new RSS reader even though this one stopped updating, can see the website in an integrated browser without having to open them in another window.
And did a headcount. 160 are still actively updating, the rest haven’t updated in a while or have ended.

Remember getting that itch once RSS reader clients worked and the feeds grew numerous, was a throwback to a earlier vacuum of too many hours of my computer time spent on the e-mail mailing lists so popular two decades ago,,,

For me, there truly is a limit to how much attention and time I can devote to it before,, well I hear money I could’ve been making elsewhere :-)

        • Sebastián Piriz

how do you follow so many diferent characters? I can’t even follow the characters I work on

          • Le_Dek

A lot of them are gag-a-day/week types. No real story to follow in SMBC, XKCD etc. for the rest I combine art style with the story, the different look helps connect me with what the characters have previously done.

          • DeNitro

Even though tempted, going to just look myself before I ask what all of those comics are. ;-)

I follow 104 (of the active ones). I maintain some HTML pages to remind me where I am.

For this audience, I would recommend the following on SpiderForest:

Soul To Call (ok, I recommend that for everyone)
            Terra
            Sunset Grill
            Requiem (wow what an archive)
            Derelict

There are about a dozen others on there I read, but these are “must-reads” for me, especially Soul To Call and Derelict.

  • Matt [in Middletown]

    The Machine Song?
    It thrums through the battalion?

    • Adriano

Can you see the Veil? Then you’re a slave.
Can you see beyond the Veil? Then you’re a free machine!
Can you see your chains? Then you’re a slave.
Can you break your chains? Then you’re a free machine!

-Excerpt from the Machine Song, by Roboprophet EB404

  • Matt [in Middletown]

    Platoon direct command.

    • Dusty Coyote

      Still going?

      • Matt [in Middletown]

        Still guessing.
        Nothing out guesses(wrong) the guessinator!

        • Dusty Coyote

          Bunny Icon checks out.

          • Matt [in Middletown]

            The Energuesser Bunny.

          • Dusty Coyote

            Anyguesser?

  • Soooo how much should I be reading into Jane and Tenzin speaking in unison there? Because normally I’d overlook something as simple as two people saying “you’re welcome” at the same time, but given recent brain/dream-related events, I’m inclined to suspect there’s something more to this little moment of unity.

    • Oh you interpreted that as TENZIN and Jane speaking in unison? That’s not what the speech bubbles/tails are trying to show.

      • Ah. I’m an idjit and you’re right. So much for my theories.

  • Adriano

Oh, Jane! Be nice with my mate Randy, please!

I also am very happen of the return of Keleres-like armor :) (guy in the right)

  • Ian Brown

that, is a lot of target practice down there,

  • PAOLO

All those massed up units… Siege tank barrage urges… tingling… Must. Throw. Cluster Bombs!

    • Matt [in Middletown]

Perfect setup for artillery to do “Killer junior” beehive and dragon rounds in close combination.
