Chapter 9: Page 7 - The Neo-Russian Federation

Posted by / in Comic / 18 comments

Uh oh, tanks. Today’s faction brought to you largely by readers from our Russian mirror. So bust out your Google Translate as you dive into their discussion and planning forums, and read about how this faction formed from the remnants of pre-WW3 Russia.

Question, what sort of things could I offer on Patreon that would be tempting to people? Would people rather use our story (see top menu) and buy digital downloads (chapters, wallpapers, etc) as single purchases instead of a pledge/subscription model?

Are those NRF tanks or Minerva tanks? Because if those are NRF tanks Tenzin is facing the wrong way:D

    • Amberlight

Or should this page be viewed as the same scene as the previous one and NRF is helping Minerva against caucasians?

      • This page should be viewed as wait till the next page and see what happens ;)

You planned the NRF. Who do YOU think they’d be shooting at right now?

        • Amberlight

Well, NRF could be convinced to ally with Minerva against Sons of Mohhamed - those two factions were in uneasy truce and that could have easily fallen apart, especially if Minerva offered something substantial for their assistance.

          • Then something to think about is who would have been doing the offering, and under what circumstances, and if Tenzin’s assault factors into those plans or not XD

          • Amberlight

Mr. Smith: “My esteemed Russian friends, we understand that your aggression is dictated by need, not malice. If you would help us deal with Caucasian aggressors, we would be glad to compensate you with the supplies you require”
NRF government: “Hm, ok. Sons are easier target than Minerva and those jihad-happy guys would attack us anyway sooner or later. Turn our tanks west, let’s kick them out for new friendship and profit!”
            Tenzin: “DAKADAKA MOTHERF*ERS!”
NRF army: “Who the hell is that?” “No idea, but let’s not get in his way”
Com. Kubek: “I’m sorry NRF, but it seems you were unable to uphold your end of the deal to assist us in combat. So, with our western border clear and our forces facing your way, would you kindly leave?”

hahaha - pretty good guess based on personality.

          • Something like that certainly sounds rather likely, even if not 100% how I decided/wrote ;)

    • I am showing the NRF on this page. I wouldn’t just have Tenzin shoot them off screen ;)

You are not thinking like a meta-human. The Jane part of the Jane/Tenzin combo would bring additional sensors to the mix.
Magnetic Anomaly Localization, Audio Stereo-metric Ranging and Echo Location, and probably Radio Intercept and listening in on the tank crew communications are just a few of the ways they would be aware of the tanks. Also, Jane probably has some sort of 360 / all-round imaging system.

      • but they are not a combo yet right? just just an AI trying to move part of Tenzin’s body by predicting what would he do… at this point I’d say they are actually less than what they were in Arkjut

  • I don’t mind at all :)

Also a reminder about idea crowdsourcing. It is getting a bit stale. Get your ideas flowing again!

    • I really need to get your account whitelisted enough to not have to approve you posting links. Let me check that…

      There. Hopefully whitelisted now.

Thanks. Also put that comment on the spotlight in the upper part of the board. We need more activity on the forum.

Hah, @Amberlight:, we knew you had tanks when you admitted that you could produce tractor parts that were made in the same factory as the tanks. That was the whole purpose of the request. ^^

And,actually we were about to offer alliance to first conquer Minerva, then use their tech to destroy the Papacy, and let you have Europe, but the time ran out on that.

    • Amberlight

Actually we only had APCs. But I guess we could get a couple of old tanks running if we found some well-preserved military base. We did send stalker expeditions to the cities but the game ended before they got to their destination. Maybe they found 3 tanks and we were able to get them running.

  • I’ve heard cool guys don’t look at explosions, but apparently I missed that they don’t look at tanks, either.
