Chapter 9: Page 9 - Tank Teamwork

Posted by / in Comic / 38 comments

Enjoy a new page! A little late because I handed Seba some serious edits last night XD

Still looking for ideas for the new site version, things to put in the Store (currently just ebook downloads [Seba, we need to make more ebook covers for recent chapters so I can upload them btw]).

  • Matt [in Middletown]

    Awesome!
Now if he can con one of them into shooting their friends or shoot into the thinner belly armor of the tank..

  • Nate the Robot

    Amazing work on this page!

  • Hmm, Disqus, why you know email me about new comments any more? I promise I’m not trying to ignore comments if I don’t end up responding to a question XD

    • NickDA

I had to go in and tweak the notification settings… I wasn’t getting them either, think it was a few days ago.

      • See I went in and tweaked too, still not getting them all. I think I get REPLIES, but not just emails when someone comments. Like I lost some mod powers.

        • Delta-v

I’m still seeing original comments as well as replies. How’s THAT for weird. O.o

          • As in you get the emails about them? I SEE all the comments when I load the page, I just don’t get notified by email about them.

          • Delta-v

Yep. Right on my email account. It sounds like you are now where I used to be before my account got fixed. I wish I could remember how that was done.

          • Jealous… Today I’ve gotten notifications from like two random comments, hours after they were posted.

          • NickDA

Disqus’ email server is thrashing… I’m getting things HOURS after the comment is made. So there is also that problem in the mix.

          • For example, this comment JUST got emailed to my inbox. 4 something hours later.

  • Kaylebor

    Hold my beer, watch this!

  • Adriano

    This is SO cool !
I love how they work together when being serious. Like a couple <3

  • Ian Brown

such a perfect combat couple. halo got nothing on this!

    • Aaron R.

Before or after 343 threw Halo into oncoming traffic?

      • Ian Brown

        yes.

        • Adriano

          ‘sup

  • Amberlight

So… if this tank is Armata, then it’s mass is about 60-65 tonnes.
And he just flipped it by ramming it with his head, I mean shoulder?

I guess his suit is made of neutronium after all.

    • Chris Kotthoff

Just means the Death Bots are that much scarier.

    • DeNitro

Way too late to start debating the actual mass and bulk of a combat power armored exoskeleton, its power supply, lift strength, maximum run speed, or that most important thing,,, the sound it would make crunching those massive footprints into the ground. The modern high tech explosives and weapons can destroy one, but the story tells me salvaged tanks from before the apocalypse firing even older salvaged ammunition. That’s just a small step in difficulty to defeat above the groups before. :-)

    • Nah. Rammed to get it started, then continued to push and lift. We just didn’t show. And he tipped it, not lifted it, so he didn’t have to lift the entire mass, as most transmitted down the tank to the ground still.

    • NickDA

Yeah… this segment isn’t the most “realistic” as you know… but we could pretend the tank was on like a 30 degree incline… so he’s just helping it over… although that’s just as unrealistic I know…

      • Bah humbug, I say. Pure realism would mean Tenzin is forcefully retired and stuck to a desk job. And that battle would be just people laying down machine gun covering fire.

Tenzin sees bad guy A: shoots his gun.
Bad guy B! Shoots his gun.
        Tank! Shoots bigger gun.

        BORING ;P

        • Amberlight
          • Heh, at least Tenzin’s tank was holding still ;P

Besides, didn’t one of them also say I was on drugs or something? :P

          • Amberlight

He did and he was right:P

Speaking of realism in this scene, if Tenzin used the superior mobility of his suit to avoid any heavy weapon it would make total sense and would look rather cool. And then he would run around the field, planting magnet-mines on the tanks and then blow them all up at once, walking away from the explosion like a badass he is. That would make more sense AND look more awesome:D

          • Then I invite you to imagine he did that instead, as the end effect is the same. I shall continue to tell my story the way I want to :P

          • NickDA
  • Chris Kotthoff

… I think I just heard Tony Stark squeal like a little school girl.

  • Lirik

    HULK TURN! HULK SHOOT!!!

  • Good lord! I have no words-this is clearly the most B.A. thing Tenzin has done yet.

    • Sebastián Piriz

      -yet-

      • Matt [in Middletown]

“I once defeated a rather vicious bullfrog.”
        That doesn’t sound so bad.
“Ever seen post apocalyptic frogs? They have teeth and armor plating.”

  • Matt [in Middletown]

” A little late because I handed Seba some serious edits last night XD”
Wouldn’t have been due to the twitter video link barrage I dropped in an effort to give you as much info on noises, would it?

    • The sound effects were POST Seba getting edits, and as a direct result of them ;)

      • Matt [in Middletown]

        *Phew!*
        Yay! Not my fault!

  • The art is great. The track twisting and beginning to fail in torsion (panel 2, inset 3) is a wonderfully realistic touch.

  • Eugene Lyssov

50 tons. Armata`s weith is 50 metric tons.

This is no more SciFi. This is bullshit facking superheroic fantasy.

Prevois page are stupid bullshit too.
