Chapter 4: Page 5 - What Now?

Posted by / in Comic / 30 comments

Happy Thursday!

In case you didn’t see it, I started a new blog section this week: the Wednesday Spotlight. This week’s entry featured our very own fan Charlie Wise! So give it a read, eh?

I’m also happy to announce a new collaborative Lore piece, The Undying Voice of Julius Gordon, by Josh Conner of the webcomic Steel Salvation. It’s pretty awesome. Josh really knows how to write beautiful prose. I highly recommend you check it out (and the rest of the Lore section!) if you haven’t already.

In other news, we got another review, this one from the Webcomic Police. They’re always a little tough on the comics they review, but we did get some good feedback, even if mostly on things we already know we need to work on :)

Standard Vote Request link, but you can see our ad is back up again if you vote today :)

Anyways, enjoy the page. Tenzin’s parents are pretty cool, IMO.

EDIT: I keep forgetting to credit awesome guest artist Matias Basla for his pages. Thanks again, man :)

Chapter 4: Page 4 - Cue Bad Guys

Posted by / in Comic / 43 comments

Happy Monday all!

Over this weekend, one of our other guest artists finished the 3 sequences for this chapter he was working on, for a total of about 30 pages. They look so good! This brings up our current buffer to about 50 pages ahead of the current page, which makes me wish I could just give it all to you at once to enjoy!

But then we wouldn’t be able to post for a while, and that would just ruin it. If our buffer does continue to get bigger, I might switch to a 3 times a week update schedule. That’s currently one of my stretch funding goals over on my Patreon if anyone wants to help with that. Maybe I should make a pledge level that gets all of Chapter 4 as a PDF or something in advance ;)

Also, today, we started a new ad campaign over on TopWebComics (welcome to those who clicked it!). The ad space we won as part of March’s contest got us a lot of new readers and clicks, so we’ve bought some space on Mondays and Thursdays for the rest of April to see if we can get some more. You can check it out over on their website while you vote for us :) It should be up at the top of the page today.

Also, fun game for this (and future pages): our guest artists liked to include a lot of symbolism and real life references. Which can you find? ;)

EDIT: And if anyone else is having troubles getting Disqus comments to load, first try loading the page in incognito mode (or the non-Chrome equivalent). If that works, you may need to clear cache/cookies, or an extension might be messing with Disqus. If none of those work, email Nick at [email protected]

EDIT 2: Thanks Amberlight for reminding me to tell you all that this awesome page was done by guest artist Matias Basla.

Chapter 4: Page 3 - Meet Indira

Posted by / in Comic / 16 comments

I know you’ve all been waiting and theorizing about the mysterious Indira.

Well, here you go. Enjoy ;)

After enjoying, don’t forget to give us a vote over on TWC, and maybe even check out our Patreon if you’d like to support us and help pay the artists :)

In other news, we got a mini-spotlight over on the webcomic Mysteries of the Arcana, in the form of a full page ad of The Demon Archives. Check it out and share the love!

EDIT: Forgot to mention that this awesome page was done by guest artist Matias Basla.

Chapter 4: Page 2 - Rude Awakening

Posted by / in Comic / 18 comments

Happy Monday, all!

We’re starting up an 8 page sequence drawn by Matias Basla, who drew the Chapter 4 cover. Seba based the previous page off of Matias’ panel 1 on this page, to give you all a better view and better continuity.

I can’t remember if I told you why, so let’s hear your thoughts on why we are experimenting with other and multiple artists in these next several sequences.

Also, while you are at it, don’t forget to give us a vote/favoriting on TWC. Also, check out the hilarious art contest TWC is hosting. We aren’t participating, but if you check it out, it does register on a count for us that can potentially give us more ad space :D Some of my internet webcomic friends are planning on participating, so once voting opens, you should vote for their art entries ;)

And lastly, if any of you are Facebookers, please give our FB page a look and a like. Heck, maybe even a comment or a share! We mistakenly got a lot of fake, non-participatory likes by placing an ad :( So it would be nice to have some real fans over there.

Chapter 4: Page 1 - The Big Reveal

Posted by / in Comic / 63 comments

Alright guys and girls (and everyone else? We’re learning to be gender neutral in med school), here’s the big reveal I’ve been having to hide from you for the past several pages. Who guessed it? ;)

Obviously this doesn’t reveal everything you wanted to know, or answer all of your previous conspiracy theories (I’m sneaky like that. Alright you caught me, this has been planned for years), but it should be solid fodder for some more guesses and theories. Do share them down in the comment section. If nothing else, I enjoy seeing how close you are (and how predictable I am. Curse realism!).

You can probably tell that this is Seba’s art style. Starting on Monday we’re back into a sequence of 8 pages in Matias’ style, similar to the chapter cover. You’ll see why we’re jumping around in styles on Monday’s page.

As always, vote for us on TWC (and favorite us if you’re registered), check out our Patreon for goodies, and like us on FB (I’m tired of real likes being drowned out by spam bots!). Man if only I had a sidebar thing of some kind to put all those links in for easy visibility ;P

EDIT: One more link, for fun. You can go look at TWCs spotlight/review for the 1st place contest winner, and after taking a look at the comic yourself, leave your thoughts in the comment section below. I’d love for this guy to get some good honest feedback. ;)
