“Heartburn? Send for the flechette of Tank-a-seltzer!”

  • T.R.

[Tankbot prepares to deliver the coup de grace with its left fist.

Before it can deliver the blow, Nightshade enters, stage right, preceded by several shots from her fancy weapon and a large “Ka Blam”.]

    Jane (to Tenzin): “Now run!!!!!”

    • More like: “Woah, how epic…”

      • Matt [in Middletown]

“why can’t I have that kind of firepower?” -Jane

        • Adriano

Well she’s got a Tenzin and that ain’t nothing

          • Matt [in Middletown]

            True, somewhat.
But he is also something like a squishy necktie that she wears.
She can get a new necktie…

          • Adriano

I could be our new necktie…

          • Delta-v

Great! Let’s see you as a full Windsor. ^^

  • Jack Crow

Tenzin’s gonna run out of limbs at this rate.

    • Matt [in Middletown]

That’s when Tenzin starts losing organs like spleen, pancreas, maybe appendix and a kidney.

      • Chris Kotthoff

Brain in the Jar like RoboCop 2?

        • Matt [in Middletown]

          Pretty much.
          Mi-Go brain cylinders and such.

          • Hooray for Lovecraft references!

          • I hope you’re excited for Monday’s page, Josh ;)

          • SO EXCITED. I’ve been waiting all chapter for this =D

          • TechnoAdvocate

I was thinking more like Dr. Brackman from supreme commander 2 personaly

          • Matt [in Middletown]

            The Master from Fallout series.

      • Who need em?

        • Matt [in Middletown]

Ha, internal organs are optional at extra cost.

    • Honza Prchal

      Max Headroom

  • Adriano

    Damn it
Tenzin was so close to singing the Machine Song!

  • Oooooo long distance shot that one…. the sound trailed WAY behind the bullet.

    • Delta-v

If the weapon is what I’m pretty sure it is, that was the sound of the Tank-Deathbot disintegrating forcefully. The actual shot wouldn’t make that much noise. :)

      • Hmmm hadn’t considered that… could very well be!

        • actually yes, the idea is to show that that the sound comes behind the bullet. not so much because of the distance but because of the the speed

  • Ian Brown

judging from the way deathbot H turns it’s head, it probably heard the shot a literal second right before it struck. high velocity, probably a sniper I’d think. either way it hit home in all the right ways from the looks of it.

    • Amberlight

You have it all upside down. The supersonic bullet hits waay before the shot is heard.

      • Ian Brown

then explain why the deathbot looked up toward the direction the shot came from just before it hit. some large caliber rifles the shot can actually be heard almost right before it happens, and the sound does reach people, but different wavelengths reach at different times. a dog could hear a bullet before we do for example.

        • Amberlight

You are not correct. The definition of “supersonic” is that the object travels faster than sound.
However, supersonic bullet also creates a sonic boom that is usually heard as a loud cracking sound. That’s why special subsonic ammo is used for silenced shooting.
As for the deathbot he probably just detected the hit by internal damage detection system.

          • Yeah we were more going for the “oh crap, I’m hit!” face, mixed with sensing the shot after it was too late.

          • TechnoAdvocate

Maybe the death bot saw the Muzzle flash?

          • The idea was that panels 4-7 are super slow motion. Panel 4 is when the Deathbot realizes it has a bullet tearing trough his back, the other 3 show the exit “wound”. then the actual sound of the shoting

        • Purphoros

“different wavelengths reach at different times”

I think you got a few things mixed up there. Speed of sound is determined by the carrier substance, NOT by the wavelength. In a Uniform medium, all sonic waves travel at the same speed. The frequency does increase if the speed increases, but that’s a one-way effect. Increasing frequency does not increase speed, it only shortens the wavelength.

Your physics teacher owes you an apology and a refund.

  • Chris Kotthoff

…oh yeah, that sniper person. Good shot!

  • My immediate hope is that this is somehow Jorge back from the dead, but I’m 1000% sure that’s way too much to hope for.
