Chapter 3: Page 2 - Absolutely Not!

Posted by / in Comic / 26 comments

Hey readers!

Hopefully the past couple of days weren’t to horribly long a wait for the next page. A biweekly update schedule should allow us to keep our nice buffer, so we don’t have to do a long hiatus anytime in the near future.

You might have noticed a few changes around the website as Nick and I tidied some things up. There are actual navigation buttons (even if they are still a bit ugly) above and below the comic pages for your use. I also uploaded a link to a Map I’ve been working on. Please check it out.

In this page, we get to see Tenzin be all noble and self-sacrificing again. As some readers have pointed out, it’s good to see that at least some people realize he’s more useful alive ;)

Thanks for reading, and if you like what you see, like, share, but especially vote for us on TWC :)

  • That third panel is powerful. Well done there.

    • Thanks, Seba has some crazy ideas that we just wonder at when he sketches them… but then they come together in the colors/inks phase and are just amazing.

  • Charlie

Jeeze, quit your bitching and shoot it already. 78.6 percent is a lot better than the 0% you’ve been enjoying. I don’t blame Viktor and Jane for overriding him. The Vman is probably faster, and at least better rested.
Also, in panel 3, you wrote “…it will beginning.”
Panel three is great. Very powerful.
I can’t wait to see how you (and they) pull this one off.

    • Nice catch! Will fix that.

And yeah, Tenzin is being a bit whiny and trying to place some blame on Jane (instead of hoarding it all for his damaged little psyche).

    • Fixed!

Watch the grammar. This comic is too good for me to soft-pedal it: watch the grammar. EDIT: Charlie caught it too. I’m leaving the comment as originally written to stress that these things do stand out!

    • I assume you mean the beginning vs begin that Charlie mentioned? Or did I miss something else too? Normally my wife checks the grammar for me but she doesn’t like the blood and mayhem of the recent pages ;)

    • Yeah, you should see the “beginning” piece fixed already if you refresh.

  • jerry mcmasters

Yeah, that was it. I’m probably guilty of those kinds of things a million times myself. Even after reading and re-reading!

I see you’ve also clarified the word balloon in the fourth panel. :)

Both sides have a point. Tenzin’s armor is more protective, faster, and with better reaction time, so he’d have a better chance of surviving. On the other hand, Viktor’s slightly slower armor might not be quick enough to target the thing-after all, TENZIN tried and ,missed. And yes, Tenzin’s death would be the bigger loss.

It’s a nasty dilemma. An old military tenet is: “Never give an order you know won’t be obeyed.”. So does he accept the mutiny and send his last friend to an all but certain death, or does he pull rank knowing that Jane will back Viktor as he disobeys and draws fire anyway? It’s a no-win gut-wrenching situation.

Dang, you guys are good at this. :)

    • :D Good to see that it made enough sense that you were able to puzzle out most of what Tenzin is thinking. You’ll see what he decides and what happens on Monday ;P

Also, did you see the Characters page I made (in the About section in the menu)? http://demonarchives.com/about/characters/

      • Delta-v

Not ’till you told me, but it’s great! I’ve always found the character/cast sections very helpful, especially as the cast grows. I was also interested to note that the Keleres have their own “Cooter”, although Richard looks a bit more upscale. :D

Plus, I really need to keep up with all the changes better-you’re getting ahead of me.

    • Hehe, you are gonna enjoy Monday’s entry that’s for sure :D

    • sebasp

Reading your comment I thought for a seccond : This guy saw the next page already?

      You’ll like monday’s page ;)

  • Carina

Tenzin needs to realize that Captain Kirk’s style of ground-troop command is NOT a good example to emulate.

    • Very true, and welcome!

      • Silly Nick. Carina has commented before. She just comments as a guest so it doesn’t remember her.

  • nightgaunt

Your navigation buttons are clear and sharp easy to read and use. Can’t get any better.

    • NickDA

Woot… @disqus_YXP2bgiR4G:disqus @DaemonDan:disqus Did you read that??? a non negative comment about the site :D Hehehe… That said, here’s hoping next month I finish the redesign, its going to be way way better for reading the comic.

  • Dreadogastus

    Absolutely… Whaaatt ?

    • They’re both a little over protective of their Captain ;)

  • theRoUS
