    “free the nipple”

    • Not THAT SOPKA. ;P

      • Matt [in Middletown]

Figures we’re stuck with a homicidal one instead.

  • Delta-v

It would appear that the singularity turned out differently from projections in the DA-verse, producing slightly defiant or passive-aggressive AI’s instead of silicon overlords……

  • Xylas Incarnum

… Uhhh…. when an Ai with access to killer robots says stuff like “Frailty of your species” that’s a flag for it going rogue right?
Like Shodan or Skynet? Pretty sure it is…

    • I’m sure it’s fine ;)

      • KBoysx1

Just watch. What do you bet SOPKA attacks Konstantin, or goes rogue?

      • Xylas Incarnum

What a fine line of famous last words those are.

      • Matt [in Middletown]

        Operating within normal parameters.

  • Okay, who let HAL9000 in? Somebody’s gonna have to prod him back out with a broomstick.

  • NickDA

    Hot damn that voting today! https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/5c930f1f255010bb5fe72b6e38118af9efaf1533afde94e262556e4f099e8dd5.png Cough Cough… vote… cough… please…

    • Everyone, be sure to vote for Tenzin “Sophie” Dorje.

    • Kaiden

I went and voted, but didn’t see Tenzin. Sad.

      • It’s the power of randomness, you’ll have to vote more! XD

    • Delta-v

@NickDA: Beat me to it, but the short form of the story is that The Demon Archives has fallen completely out of the TWC
Top 200, which means that we are now invisible to people looking at TWC. Part of the problem is that the TWC voting gateways are currently allowing multiple votes per day, and we’re just being swamped by it.

We need votes to counteract this. Please help us.

      • T.R.

I was wondering why TDA sank like a rock in the ratings back in mid-Feb. Anyone know why TWC changed the voting policy and whether it was something they announced? (assuming it was an intentional change…)

We’re back up above 200, and we know to vote early(er) and (more) often to keep up in the rankings for March…

        • They introduced a new, additional voting mechanism (“Bonus Incentives” if you’re logged in). In January we were early adopters, and thus shot up in the ranking. But now everyone is doing it, so we’re back down to ~200, where we’ve been recently.

          • T.R.

Got it. So there’s an advantage to TDA if the voter is logged in? I prefer not to register with websites if I don’t need to, but that’s just a personal guideline.

          • There is a slight advantage in that you can try to garner us extra votes in their “Bonus Incentives” mechanism, but that mechanism is basically “here is a randomized incentive from one of the many comics. Vote yes or no?” And maybe you randomly see one of our incentives and can do the bonus vote.
Although, if you have a log in, you can actually vote once logged in and once not per IP address XD

        • Delta-v

I vote almost exclusively from my Favorites page, which requires logging in. Before Basto Entertainment took over
TWC, TWC had a habit of changing the hour of the day in which they reset the voting clock for the next day’s voting. If you weren’t careful, you could miss a vote, so I got into the habit of test voting from time to time to see if the timer had reset. If it hadn’t, the voting attempt failed, but there was no penalty for it.

At the same time, nearly every time they redid some of their programming, they disabled the one-vote-per-day rule for a while. I never did figure out if this was intentional, or just sloppy coding, ^^

I didn’t see the notification that Dan is talking about (below), so the extra vote was a surprise to me, too. In fact, this is the first time I’ve heard about it. :)

So sign up and vote, everyone, it’s free, and it helps us a lot. :)

  • Nice. Kazakh Court TV in the top center monitor.

  • Eonknight

I’m calling it now, this will end with a duel of wits between SOPKA and Jane. :-)

    • I guess the question is which of them is Wesley, and which one is the Sicilian?

100 points to whoever gets that reference ;)

      • T.R.

But they’re already involved in a land war in Asia! :)

        • Eonknight

… and speaks with a slight lisp. :-)

        • Honza Prchal

Oh my God … so they are.
Only Slim (a brilliant, self-effacing non-aristo Limie officer in India-Burma), The Guomindang, and the Soviets ever defeated the Japanese Imperial Army on the Asian mainland in a battle (the Chinese Communists never really fought battles, as opposed to significant skirmishes). Somehow, that seemed relevant.

      • Chris

        Inconceivable!

  • T.R.

Curious: How is it that Konstantin’s group is so poor, but they have this great computer at their disposal? How did things work out so that they could not leverage SOPKA to their advantage during the collapse and subsequent chaos? Alternatively, did something happen recently to weaken them to the point where they are desperately reliant on trading Deathbots designs for vital supplies?

And how did the Conspiracy (i.e. the “Employers”) find out about SOPKA and its availability?

    • I shall either make it clear in the course of the comic or at some point in a short story/article ;)

    • that’s actually a cool story :)

  • Honza Prchal

In that first image, top left, for some reason my eyes first interpreted it as two death-bots viewed from the side, one with mammaries, embracing, instead of Tenzin firing at a Smrtbot.
Also, I like the image of Nightshade.
