• OOF…So one sided. Hopefully there’s some good retorts for this by the defense.

    • Deoxy

In most courts, prosecution first, so yes, very one-sided. Afterall, one defense is to simply rest and say that the prosecution has failed to prove the charges.

      Defense comes after.

      • We’re also not seeing cross examination, and I realize it’s purposeful, but because of the slant it seems very damning.

        • Delta-v

Yeah, you’re right. If it didn’t look bad now it wouldn’t be such a victory later. :)

          • Victory, right, of course.

          • Hornet

I don’t know, I’m the type that if the system or society decided to turn against me when I tried to save their collect arses. I’d happily sit in a cell and laugh my butt off as they all got led to the chamber of execution.

  • NickDA

LOL… the Aegis nerd in panel 5… makes me think he is pretty openly a Tenzin fan-boy and just doesn’t realize how that might sound when called as a prosecuting witness.

Hanging out with us lawyer types, are you? I thought you had better taste. ;-)

    • Matt [in Middletown]

“Hanging out with us lawyer types, are you?”
      It’s a trap!

      • Honza Prchal

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4F4qzPbcFiA - Thank you Matt. You know you “assumed the risk” for this sort of snippet, don’t you? If that don’t work … UNCLEAN HANDS! and even “The Rule of Lenity [a/k/a ‘Lenny’]!!

As for the absence of cross-examination … sometimes cross is best done through rebuttal witnesses.

        • Sometimes I just definitely don’t show you everything, or else we’d have 3 chapters of nothing but court XD

          • Honza Prchal

Page twelve, lawyer taps pencil, nervously and daydreams, waiting for the jury to come in … client gives lawyer a sidelong glare and prosecutor grins maliciously.
Page 13. Figeting as the door to chambers jiggles … but nothing happens.
            ….
Page 23 judge walks out having issued instructions, and bailiff asks after attorneys’ family while client really wants to talk about some situation he saw on TV that reminds him of what he thinks might happen.
et cetera - et cetera - et cetera

          • Hey, give those back! ;P

          • Matt [in Middletown]

” lawyer taps pencil, nervously and daydreams”
He’s daydreaming about having a supersuit all of his own!
And a witty AI paralegal sidekick!

            https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x2qRDMHbXaM - ’nuff said.
To the rest of you out there who are married, this rings very, very true.
I spoke to a client today who needed to put his pants on to go to the front door and read his full mailing address in good light. Men. We’re not all that to live with.
            Also, “no capes”.

Nice to see coercion of witnesses survived the collapse of society.

  • T.R.

Unable to hold back any longer, the words come tumbling forth onto the page in a rushing torrent. :)

    • :P

      • T.R.

I’ll bet you smoked after writing this page. >:-)

  • Sheesh. And I thought the abject character assassination of Tenzin in that one guest strip I made was over the top.
