• ARGH… no fair… LOL Out of context… Though I do remember this.

    • DeNitro

You had to see this coming, the cheap tactic of taking a small snippet of events, completely out of context, and presenting in misrepresentation to discredit a witness or suspect….

      • LOL of course, but that doesn’t mean I have to like it.

        • Eonknight

Indeed, but the prosecutor forgets that she has better access than him to Tezin’s recordings and biometrics. It should be easy enough for her to replay a sequence long enough to re-establish context. Any attempt to make her loose her cool would probably also fail. At least, it should.

          • Ah, but would anyone trust her “alternative” version of events? ;)

          • Eonknight

Does Jane’s programming allow her to lie? Otherwise, her word is worth just as much as the prosecutor’s… :-)
In fact, I suspect the general public, at least, would trust Jane more than a prosecutor, with the perception that her being a “glorified computer” makes her more trustworthy than a lawyer… Whether the judges would share this sentiment is another matter entirely. :-P

          • Eonknight

Going over this page again, I am reminded that it HAS been established that Jane is a bit of a teenage girl… She needs to be calm and composed, or the prosecutor will eat her alive.

          • T.R.

Will be interesting how well she can maintain composure. Luckily, she doesn’t need split-second reactions, so she *could* be able to stifle any urges that are provoked.

She was good a predicting the movements of the first deathbot. How will she do predicting the prosecutor’s next moves?

          • DeNitro

AI’s learn a lot faster than Lawyers.. LOL
Jokes aside, Jane has had a lot of learning experience since then, can’t wait to see what comes next.. 😆

          • T.R.

If the prosecutor has the right info, he’ll lure out Jane’s “feelings” for Tenzin and use that to hang her as biased, partisan, and untrustworthy. Then it’s just the word of “Crazy Tenzin” to support his actions.

        • DeNitro

Not suprised, I don’t recall any, except those using such tactics, to ever enjoy it.

Today, this guy is trying so hard to belittle Jane as a mere machine,, I’m betting he is expecting Jane to react as a human might, hopefully she’s smarter than he is..

      • NielsR

Quite. More worrying, while it wouldn’t take much for the advocate to reframe the event (only way to save anyone from the team, along with the combat info needed to build a defense against the bots) it leaves Jane terribly exposed.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the actual goal of this gambit is to try to get Jane labelled ‘rogue’ and shut down.

        • Such delicious theories :D

          • DeNitro

Naww, He didn’t just do that.. did he…

  • KBoysx1

So Tenzin’s suit has body cams inside and outside of it. Is this for monitoring the soldiers? Or was the improvement made after Thalia Gordon’s disappearance and the civilian deaths caused by the early models of the Hercules armor and Tantalus prototypes? I’m a new commenter, so I do have a lot of questions.

    • What you’re seeing down in panel 6 is Tenzin’s helmet cam looking forward at Viktor, in case that wasn’t clear with just the inks.

But yes, the suits have interior cams for “facetime-ing” other soldiers and HQ, as well as ramped up “body cams” like many places are trying to gets cops to wear today, for mostly similar reasons. As far as timing, it was when they entered active use, to record data and intel from missions, etc.

It’s awesome that you’ve read the Thalia Gordon stories! There was definitely an element of needing to hold wearers of such armor accountable, but not much more than standard soldiers already have.

Oh, and excellent first comment! I look forward to many more ;)

      • KBoysx1

        Thanks!

  • KBoysx1

Is it possible for Jane to release anpother daemon to venture of the court and investigate Nightshade and Minerva. I mewmewan, she can make as many daemons as she wants, right?

  • KBoysx1

You know how Viktor was shot in the right eye? Did the bullet enter his right brain. Or did it penetrate completely, and destroy his motor functions. Either way, he would be paralyzed in his left body because of this, right?

    • That wasn’t a bullet to the eye as much as visor glass fragments. Still lots of brain damage though ;)

      • KBoysx1

What part of the brain. The central visual cortex, the left cortex, the right cortex, or the brain stem. Because depending on where he was hit, it would affect him differently.

        • Kaiden

If I had to hazard a guess, I’d say the brain damage was… diverse and indiscriminate.

          • KBoysx1

So did the visor material scatter around his head? If so, why was his head not completely dripping blood? If I recall correctly, his eye was the only area bleeding.

          • Here’s the page in question: https://demonarchives.com/chapter-3-page-9-captain/

Well that and the following one.

          • Sebastián Piriz

I’d say Viktor had a lot of damage from the glass but a bunch more from the concussion provoqued by the explosion

          • That and the blood loss -> hypoxia -> neuronal death.

          • KBoysx1

But remember in one of the interludes! Chapter Four page 45. Viktor’s senora said that the kids and VIKTOR were asking about hi!. Please, explain this while I am at science fair. ;)

          • Confusing series of ‘and’s. Should be read as “Jorge looked up to you and Viktor” and “the children keep asking about you”. English is not her first language :)

          • KBoysx1

            Thank you for the clarification.

        • Because I’m evil XD

I don’t generally get too technical with some of these things, but Viktor’s brain damage was less about physical trauma and more about hypoxic neuronal death. As Kaiden said: Diverse and indiscriminate.

          • KBoysx1

            Thank you for the clarification.

          • KBoysx1

I do have one more question on Viktor’s brain damage. Remember in interlude 5, page 45 Chapter four? Didn’t Viktor’s senora say that the kids AND VIKTOR were wondering about Tenzin? Well, science fair begins soon, I better sign off and get to school. Bye! ;)

          • NickDA

Science fair you say??? Pics or it didn’t happen.

          • KBoysx1

Well, I am in for the seventh grade at the San Bernadino district science fair with my project Information to Power he Nation: A Solar Solution. I’ll see if I can get a pic from it.

          • NickDA

I would enjoy that. Good luck!

  • KBoysx1

Hey Seba! Do you help create comics besides the Demon Archives? If so, could you tell me which ones. I would like to read them.

  • Adriano

    Wtf
    The lockdown helped Tenzin.
It made him not die and take down the enemy.
How could *that* be seen as Jane not fulfilling her duty??

    • Sebastián Piriz

well, it was technically against Jane’s protocols.
